Hi tiger5. Have removed Skype from my computer. Didn't have any virus... but was sick of the offer for Russian Brides. Decided to give it a miss. Roger doesn't need a Russian bride. LOL. Cheers Dellie
I have been skype for 2 years now & had no problems, I would recommend it to anyone. I have had about 10 requests from russian bride type things over the time which I just delete & they are never heard from again. Never seen a virus on Skype but from what I just googled & read they do exist though I don't see this as a reason to not use a great program.Vigilance should always be applied as with email & many other programs...NEVER OPEN, RESPOND OR DOWNLOAD ANYTHING YOU DON'T KNOW & FROM ANYONE YOU DON'T KNOW. As far as I know this simple step & a good virus & spyware program & you should be safe. (though, as I have a Mac computer, the virus & spyware programs arn't necessary.
Being on the road 24/7 we use skype to keep in touch with our computer friends with the free video chat function as well as using it for our normal phone which for a flat $60 a year, allows unlimited untimed calls ringing home phones. It also has very cheap mobile rates & International rates, it cost something like $12 for 2 hours last time Hylda rang South Africa
Cheers Jon
