Lakes Entrance and Mallacoota

Hi all,

I am just after a recommendation on a good Caravan Park to stay at Lakes Entrance(So many to choose from) and some reports not so great, and Mallacoota as our final destination before returning home back to Melbourne.
Any feedback or comments would be appreciated.
Regards

Welcome to the forum Roadtrip. Now, you have asked about two of the most popular places in Victoria. It all hinges on when you want to be at these locations. Any time after Christmas I reckon is going to be mayhem. The Foreshore at Mallacoota is probably your best bet it is big. As to Lakes Entrance, get out the caravan parks book and start phoning around. You could consider Paynesville or Bairnsdale not too far from Lakes. Anyway good luck and enjoy your time where ever you go.

Terro.

Going to Mallacoota it's best to bypass Lakes Entrance and take the route from Bairnsdale via Bruthen to Nowa Nowa and onto Mallacoota.
Mitchell Gardens Holiday Park in on the riverside in Bairnsdale and makes a great stopover.  Wonderful clean park close to shops, pubs, clubs etc.

Welcome to our forum Roadtrip. If you cant find a place you might consider this one....just inland from Bairnsdale is a gorgeous park at Buchan Caves. (National Park, so no pets)

Can recommend the Mitchell Gardens c/park at Bairnsdale. stayed a couple of days in 08
Clean, tidy good sites and amenities. As ozjohn says, close to everything. Plenty to do and see.
