BBQ Hot Plate Liner.

Does any-one know anything about the BBQ Non-stick Mat, with Teflon coating from The Reject Shop ?  Only $5.00,   35x50cm.

Do they work OK, or am I better off getting one of the more expensive ones ?

Don't know about the cheaper ones Sheba, but they do say you get what you pay for.

We bought the more expensive one from our local Outdoors shop and we used it constantly on our last trip.

It was well worth the money.

We paid $10 from Aldi and it seems fine. To be honest, for five bucks I would give it a go mate, you really can't lose. What Ma says is true though.

I have met a man who worked in the detergent industry. I am going to give him a grilling on the most economical detergents out there but from what I gather so far, there are only a couple of companies in Oz that manufacture them nowdays so they are all pretty much the same  just badged different. Stay tuned. wink

Hi Sheba
when using BBQ's in free camps or doubtful caravan parks
we use 'baking paper'. on the plate. Works great.

I'm going to start making my own again soon.  Used to a few years ago, but have been running around too much since moving here.

It's very simple to do.

Sheba, we too use the baking paper - magic stuff - not only for our own BBQ, but also the ones in camp kitchens too, never leave home without it.

Baking paper does it for us! We had an expensive "teflon" one, but I found it tricky to wash up in the smaller caravan sink. Wish we'd tried baking paper first!

We are also baking paper advocates. Also use it in the electric frypan. A lot easier to clean. Most of the time just remove the paper and throw away. Nothing has escaped underneath.
