I had a quick look though my photos and come up with Tolga also but Sheba was in first.

K

Where is this dam and what is it called?

Meet a local when we visited and was informed that it does still hold water, but not enough for the town supply. Apparently the silt build up is up to 10 feet deep in places.

 Well done.

The chap we chatted to, lived in the valley below the dam and said that they had a fantastic veggie patch. The silt was so rich. He also mentioned that there was an offer by a contractor to remove a lot of the excess silt, at no cost, but it was rejected.

Where to now reglynn ?

Well Reg, I thought a first  it was Cullen Bay, but on further inspection I found it not to be the case.  My first & last babies were born at the old Darwin Hospital on the old site on the ridge at Larrakeyah, before the new hospital was  built  at Casuarina. Of course Cullen Bay Marina was not even built at that stage. A shift of pace....

Does anyone recognise this historic small country town?  Gwynnie  floating.gif

Has anyone been to this country town....JPG

Hey everyone, no takers yet...So maybe another hint is called for:

" The present name was adopted in 1848. Formally established as a settlement in 1879 and proclaimed a town in 1918."   Gwynnie floating.gif
