Lucky you and Di, what a great land we do live in, will you be keeping on going or pulling up stumps, or is this just the way you live your life now

That's travel for you. Congratulations on your "mile stone", or is that "kilometre stone".
It's a great feeling and lifestyle.
I'm in Charters Towers and have met some really nice fellow travellers, including another woman on her own, with her dog.
Have to fit 2 new tyres to Roma on Wednesday before heading west to Richmond.
Ah, the serenity!

I used to have a young fella working for me who's favourite saying was 'You cant do that in Afghanistan!'  He would declare this when ever someone went on holiday or had a party or generally had a good time.

As far as travelling around in your car and van I think that he is right.  Likely also right for any other place with 'stan' as its last syllable.

We are the lucky country (for the moment)

Well Clazanddazza, i would tend to disagree to a point. We spent 3 years living in Pakistan and travelled through the country extensively, not carravaning or camping but staying in really cheap places. My memories are of the most hospitable people I ever lived amongst. Certainly more hospitable than our allies the US of A, where we also spent 4 years
