" If a woman whose dress fits tightly will sip 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of water at each meal, she will find at the end of 2 months that she can take her dress in 2.5 cms at the waistline. At the end of 2 more months, she will be able to take in another 2.5 cms and, by the end of the 5th month, another 2.5cms."
At the end of 1 year, she will have dropped 2 dress sizes. Slow, but sure, according to Dr Blodgett.
There's going to be a run on Apple Cider Vinegar at the supermarket tomorrow.
I will be first in line.
Forgot to say that Dr.Jarvis, in " Folk Medicine, a Doctor's Guide to Good Health" 1960 says that it's best to use only Apple Cider Vinegar that has been "Aged in Wood". Some may be, but most Supermarket brands are not.
And where would we be likely to get that particular type Sheba?
You used to be able to get 1 brand, the name of which I can't remember off-hand , at the Supermarket. You have to read the labels to make sure you get the one that's aged in wood Ma. If I remember rightly, it used to say "Aged in Oak."

Hi lilly, Had a gremlin before, so this is the second attempt. Used to use it in Orange juice when I was first married [to a weight-lifter] and seemed to have a lot more energy, and didn't have a weight problem then though.
Juice on its' own is very bland after that.
Also, a very refreshing drink to keep in the fridge during summer, is Honey, Apple Cider Vinegar, and water in a large jug.
Either 3 Tablespoons each of Honey and Vinegar, or if that's too weak, it's Basting spoons. [Seniors' memory again].
Thanks sheba for the info ........and well done Firefly it so hard to get extra weight off and keep it off as we get older i take fair bit of medication to it dosent seem to help either but just keep eating less walking more one day i get to where i would like to be and then keep my weight stable .....
Hypnotherapy does work, so does meditation. Relax and try to visualise yourself by a pool, look into the pool and see your reflection and see your reflection as you would like to be, not as you are now. This technique seems to get the metabolism working so that you can burn fat cells more efficiently.

No diet is the best diet. Eat healthy low fat, high fibre, sensible serve sizes, add exercise up to your own capability. Fresh is best, not necessarily organic. I've lost 3 kg in a month. I'm trying to do it with lifestyle, without the meal replacements and tricks and potions. Because of my back I'm a bit restricted with the aerobic activity, but I do a lot of flex and stretch, including strength. I'm using hypnotherapy CD, and have changed my attitude to what I stick in my mouth. I still have the occasional chocolate craving and fix it with a small chocolate bar. I don't crave to graze like I used to. Over the lips - on to the hips. Just like Allara I kept finding all that weight people were losing, but I've fixed that. After the 2 ops I've been working very hard at making me less. My goal is to lose 20kg in a year. Not telling you which year. Just be good to yourself.

So is Apple Cider Vinegar good for arthritis as well as losing weight. I always thought it was a weight thing. I have Cornwells brand in my pantry, maybe should start taking it mainly for arthritis. I bought it originally for a weight loss program but haven't used it for ages. What would be the dosage and would I add honey and water.
With the horse, I give 1/2 to 3/4 cup poured onto the feed once a day. If I am making a bran mash, I mix it into that as well.
For people I put a desertspoon full of honey into a mug, add about a tablespoon full of Mountain Maid Vineger and top up with hot water, makes a very nice drink that is good for you.
The reason I use Mountain Maid is that it uses the whole apple and is thus more 'pure'. Cheers Allara
