solar-battery voltage

I am getting 18.6v at the panels, and 12.1 v at the outletside of the solar regulater, but 12.68v at the battery. Is there some fault or is the 150amp hr battery fully charged? The leds on the re which some battery state say its not fully charged. Strange, because it runs the fridge and the lights no problems. I would apreciate some views as I am off to Boraloola in 2 weeks. Thanks, Bill

Bill12 Thats a nice place to go, had a few tips up there and liked it a lot..used to camp down on genny flats..just up from the boat ramp..The volts from the panel sound right , the volt from the reg. are a little low, But is that reading conected to the batt. or not. the batt. should be up around 14.4 when on the panels , in full sun. A little higher if they are wet cells. the volts will go back to around 12.8 13.4 at night when there is no pressure from the panel charge.. and it will depend on the batt. age ect..A 150 amph Batt .will take a bit to bring up to a full charge. and it will depend on how many panels you have and the total watts as well.
There can be so many factors to look at in a sola setup. wire size distance from panels to charger.. Hope this helps Bill

The panels(3x40w)are on the roof of the camper abot 1.5 m away, and about the same to the battery. The battery shows 13.8v when I start the motor in the hilux up, so thats working. I think I will have to go through every conection and check conductivity, a bit of a pain but can,t think of anything else. Thanks, Bill

If you are going to King Ash Bay and staying at the Fishing Club Camp make sure you get a site as far away as possible from the Club itself.  They have an industrial generator that runs 24/7 and is quite noisy.

There are any number of nice sites down along the river if you don't need power.

We enjoyed our few days there, apart from the Willy Willies that turned our curtains in the van red.........but hey..........they are and were washable.  Lovely part of the world.

Fixed the bloody thing! One of the crimp on connections was not touching, so I recrimped it and it works. The battery shows fully charged , and the leds light up nicely. it all seems so simple once you find the fault.Counting the days til I can get away. Thanks, Bill

Have been on the roper a few times but have not heard of monkey island.?

A huge area of the road near Port Roper turn off & south was completely washed away,[ up to a metre deep]  in the cyclone earlier this year when we were up there.
The word was it would not be rebuilt for months due to the extent of damage. you may wish to check before you go.

no grog any where in NT before 2.00pm
