Dome Aerial

We bought a second hand Jayco Pop Top last year.  It has a dome TV aerial set on the roof with electronic booster.  The thing started to leak during recent rain.  I then discovered that the thing also appears to be stuck as I cannot turn or raise the aerial from inside the van.  I got onto the roof of the van and unscrewed the four allan key bolts that I thought were holding down the dome to the roof.  All that happened is that the dome came loose but would not lift any more than one inch or so from the roof surface.  I could just see under the dome and the bolts dont appear to be conected to the roof at all and are just turning nuts on the other ends.  All very confusing.

Before I run off to find a dealer (not likely in Cairns), does anybody have any experience with these things?  No makers name visible on the unit.

What is the brand and model numbers of the antenna? Is there something inside the van that is supposed to be used to raise and lower it?

No brand or numbers etc on the dome or on the inside control.  The inside control is a disc in the ceiling that can be rotated to find the best reception.  It has a securing pin for travelling.  For some reason it is jammed in the one spot.

All is well with the world and the sky is blue.

The previous owner had inserted a second retaining bolt that I eventually found by 'feel' under the unit.  Once I managed to unscrew this the whole unit came off the roof and the simplicity of it all was something to behold!

I located the source of the leak and fixed it.   Now the unit behaves as it should.
