How could we leave our pet foxy behind, he is my hubbies bestest friend and also keeps him calm and his blood pressure down. At first the thought of being in a van forever with both husband & dog 24-7 I was having some drama. But with a lot of thought after asking advise here on the forum some time back, we have taken on a new dream. " The Three of Us, travelling Oz happy calm and together. Some pics attached.
I had a little foxy called Mindy who looks so much like your one. She passed away at the age of 17 in May of last year. I will get a new dog but thought I would get myself on the road first to see how I go, then think about getting a little mate. She won't be a foxy, I can't replace Mindy so will get a small dog but a completely different breed.
We are about to embark on our Oz Adventure with our beloved 15 year old Kelpie, Effie. We don't know how much longer she'll be with us, but she is in reasonably good health for her age, although her eyesight and hearing are deteriorating and she has arthritis in her hindquarters. Other than that, she's just happy to be with us, so we hope she'll enjoy travelling. She is currently registered till July, but we are moving out of our rental property, so we won't really have a home base and we're wondering if there might be problems once her registration runs out. We're thinking that perhaps we might register her with Brisbane City Council (at my parents' address) - any thoughts or experiences from others would be most appreciated.
A kelpie is considered a working dog and it may not need to be registered. My dogs are microchipped, but are not required to be registered with council as they are a working dog breed.
