wondering if its possible to have some set up so when home and we have visiters, and they stay in the van if spare room full, can we have a set up so the toiled is used with the house system, if you can gather my thinking?
Very easy to empty Milo. Find the nearest "dump point", open the lid and pour. Then flush out with fresh water, add the required amount of the chemical of choice, screw lid on TIGHT, and return to orifice from whence it came. I don't put any solids in mine - not even paper, but paper is acceptable, but that's up to you, especially if you're free camping. Other solids may have to be permitted, as Jim said. I guess, if you get caught short you can grab the shovel and take the rolls for a run. There is a button on the top on the opposite end of the tank which if pressed very firmly, will release the gases to allow the contents flow out quicker, and more cleanly, sort of. It's all part of the lifestyle. Have fun.

Just remember that the environmentally friendly chemicals do not work properly with just urine in the holding tank. Urine is fairly sterile so there is nothing for these type of chemicals to work on. If you are unwilling to crap in the system you have two alternatives:
1. Add something like meat or yoghurt to the holding tank to react with the chemical. 2. Use one of the unfriendly masking chemicals.
If you have both urine and faeces in the tank together with the correct dose of chemical will result in less smell when you are emptying your tank than just urine alone.

.......and, judging by the responses on another famous caravanners' forum, the correct dose is:
- one capful of generic brand nappy soaker pre-dissolved in a litre of warm water put into the lower tank and just plain water in the flush.
