RE: Some info please.

Hiya Frank,
Everybody left out the dancing girls and free booze for the drinkers paid for by the non drinkers. As for jumpong castles, when I was coming down, parts of me were still going up. Not a nice feeling or pretty sight.
I'm off to the Sydney caravan show on Wednesday morning, but will give you a call on my return and espouse the benefits of chain membership for a park. Not just our chain, but all of them.
Cheers, ozjohn.wink

Hi Frank & Lorraine,

I think your biggest asset is a good attitude. An owner who is interested in asking his customer base for suggestions?? Top Notch.

Just about every feature has been covered, and I think I left it too late to start bungy-jumping Hee!Hee!! so i won't ask for that. But I will stress that Tree Shade is a big plus.

I will make a note in my "Favourites" for the next time I am down that way.

Good Luck. . .

Hi again Frank and Lorraine,

If the amount of (potential) customer feedback and general goodwill you're receiving from this forum is anything to go by it augurs well for your business.

If I may add a bit more (less tongue-in-cheek than my previous post) it is regarding a website.  If you intend to set up your own website I make some suggestions.....

1. Keep it simple, quick to load, and easy to navigate, but looking nice too

2. Keep it informative; eg, tariffs, facilities, activities, location ("mud map", GPS, directions)

3. Keep it up-to-date

Best wishes,

Jim

PS: Google sent me to the general Lake Bolac website where there was a nice picture of your park but little in the way of specific information.

Also I had intended to call in on my recent trip to Victoria (as per an earlier PM) but a commitment to get back home before Easter meant I had to cut short my trip.

Hi Jim,

Until I get a "proper" website up, this is it:
http://www.goseeaustralia.com.au/caravan_parks_list/vic/lake_bolac/accommodation/

It's got most of the info on costs, what to do, what's available, how to get here, etc.
(Definetly no bungee jumping allowed!)

Thanks to all for your support and good wishes.

Not sure what type of pads you may be looking at but I stayed at a park at South West Rocks (NSW) and they had compacted stabilized earth with a form of shade cloth pegged over it , park the van on the grass and step out onto the pad was great and been above ground level was always dry regardless of how much it rained .

Your right it's hard to please everyone but you seem to have a handle on what's needed and that's always impressive to the GN's.

As for pricing I just had the kids stay at the Breakwall Van park at Port Macquarie . Went in on Easter Monday , fools, $75 for Monday and $45 a day for the next ten days. Who said Ned Kelly was dead he lives here in Port Macquarie .

The park had dropped off with the emphasis on Cabin construction, the toilet blocks are in need of major reno's and the entire shows needs a swift kick up the "A" and that's a Big 4 park so joining up does nothing for me in assessing value for money .

will look you up when in your neck of the woods Good luck

Well Wonbie,

I look forward to have you stay in my park, hopefully it's longer then one day/night.
That goes for anyone else as well.
Heaps to do and see here, although Lake Bolac is "in the sticks" and the lake is presently dry.

It's a good spot for a base to the surrounding touristy bits, like the Grampians and the Great Ocean Rd., maybe also a bit economical to stay here.

Best regards
Frank

Wow! You certainly opened a can of caravan park worms.
I also congratulate you on having the forethought to ask the customers what they want.
Some have higher expectations than others, but if the basics are clean, safe and usable, and you sites are a reasonable size, you're on a winner.
Some parks provide everything and everyone pays for it, whether they use it or not.
The KISS principle is the best principle.
Er, about those pancakes - what time is smoko?
I'd like to revisit your part of Vic because the last time I was down that way it was so dry it just seemed to be wrong using the limited resources. God had completely forgotten about Quambatook.
I stayed at Narawong down Portland way and took on the GOR.

Hia Granny,
Pancakes are on whenever I got a bit of a crowd in the park, morning tea time usually 08:30 to 09:00, as I got heaps of things to do. (so much to do, so little time) biggrin
What I enjoy is when people book in for 1 night and then decide to stay for 2, 3 or more nights. This has happend quite a few times now, so I must be doing something right.

ozjohn, could you please tell me whts your ETA here? I wanna make sure that I will be here.

regards to all
Frank
