Parry Beach WA

Parry Beach a beautiful part coastline between Denmark and Walpole off the South Coast Hwy of Western Australia. A good bitumen road leads to the beach.  With ideal fishing, it is also the scene of salmon fishing from March to May. There is now a large campsite with separate bays, right near the beach, but protected from the wind and shaded by peppermint trees. The campsite is owned/operated by the Shire, and has two ablution blocks with flushing toilets and showers.  One is cold water and the other hot showers off solar when the sun is shining.  There is no power and bore water only, but not for drinking unless boiled.   Generators are allowed, but only for certain times during the day and night, cut off time at 9PM.

There is a small fee of $7 per night for camping and the campsite is managed by on-site volunteer caretakers. The money goes towards the preservation of the beach and surrounding coastline. There is no stated limit for length of stay. Although, camping is limited in summer due to the high popularity of the area. Shaded by trees.  For those on a budget, the fee can be waived for a small part of the day doing volunteer work in the camp, this may be maintenance or cleaning etc, the rest of the day is yours.  See caretaker/manager on site for details.

Parry Beach is unpatrolled, has a boat launch, and is great for swimming, fishing from the rocks, beach or boat, camping (large or small caravans, motorhomes), surfing and beach walks..

For the larger caravans and motorhomes, there are several entry/exit points as you will have to watch for overhanging trees over the roads, best to be guided in.

Parry beach update.
Just a quick update on this site, all of the above is correct except that fees are now $10 per night/2 people, still cheap, hight limit for vehicles/vans is 2.7 mts, if you have something taller you will have to get the caretaker to unlock the overhead gate and you will have to be guided through the peppermint trees.

Another update... we called in there a couple of weeks ago, didn't stay very long because of the stench of rotting seaweed on the beach. The camp looked pretty full, so obviously fishermen don't mind the smell!!!

I heard from someone who has just returned from there that the camp may be handed over to whatever DEC call themselves these days, not sure of any other details though.  It was also said that that the current caretakers living in the house were retiring.

Just as you arrive at Parry beach there is a large gravel overflow area (no shade) on your right, I understand that the caretakers may let you park there too if you have a big or oversize rig.

Nice spot and beach for a swim also.  There was no seaweed smell the times I have been there, maybe they had a storm?
