Hi guys, The 'Van I'm seriously thinking of buying [ when I sell the house] has 6 sealed Batteries, a 3,000 Watt inverter, a 120 watt 3 stage battery charging unit, and a 40A battery protector.
I don't think it has Solar Panels. [Not sure about this.] Is it possible that these batteries re-charge while travelling ?
I would think the folks that owned it before spent a fair bit of time free camping, your alternator on a days travel will not have the ability to fully recharge that amount of batts, I would say the previous owner also had a fair array of solar to keep it topped up which he kept and recharged at a c/park
before you purchase a great heap of solar panels work out what you are going to use first, only put back in a little more than you are going to be taking out! or you will waste a lot of money!
Thanks guys. Don't have to worry about that one. Found out they don't make them anymore. Back to the drawing board again. It's not that I don't like the Hi-ace, but when I go on the road more often, I want just a little more room. And I do want to Free-camp all the time.
Cheers, xina.
