Catch Me If You Can - Movies with Leonardo DiCaprio & Also the Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Watched this 2002 movie on conman Frank Abigale? played by Leonardo, very interesting movie and how he ended up working for the FBI.

Another great ficional conman who lived in a fantasy world (most of us have met one or know of one) was Walter Mitty, the old movie of that is being re-made using Mike Myers as Walter Mitty, should be a hoot.

The name Walter Mitty is commonly used even today to describe those who lie and fantasize about their exploits etc, there have been a number of others similar as well, see Walter Mitty;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_Life_of_Walter_Mitty and the movie

See also the article on "Faking It - The People Who Live a Lie", read right down to the bottom to view others who have lived in a fantasy world of lies and deceit;

great movie, shocking actor, that whiny little decaprio is just one I cant cotton on to or believe in any way shape or form, bring back the "DUKE" in the likes of true grit back when men were men and the horses were very nervous, many times I've seen him fire fifteen shots out of a sixgun, I'd like to see decaprio do that!!!

alas and alack the good ones are gone!!

Wonker. One of (in my opinion) realy good performance for Dicaprio was his role as an Autistic child in Whats eating Gilbert Grape, We have an Autistic son & this movie he certainly played the part extremly well.   Daryl

I haven't seen that one Daryl, I'll have to get it out on DVD, I am glad it got the stamp of approval from someone who knows what the real situation is.

Dave......hate John Wayne, reminds me of a typical big mouthed Yank (or Ozzie Ocker if you like).  Not my favourite actor.

Saw Avatar and 2012 (5 out of 5) recently, also the Hurt Locker (3 out of 5).....why the hell we are doing in those theatre of wars who knows, don't think they are worth one allied life.........Russians had the sense to get out of Afghanistan years ago because of their losses and waste of time etc.  Still, I suppose there are good reasons not known to the likes of us mere mortals.

Nearly forgot........saw Invictus, like Morgan Freeman and Mat Damon as actors, Rugby/Sport lovers will like it, I enjoyed it too, 3 out of 5.

Sorry Dave, gotta agree with DeBe about young Leonardo, wasn't too keen on him after Titanic (probably the movie) but changed my mind after seeing 'Blood Diamond', he really can act, shame about the babyface

If I remember rightly Wonker, "Catch Me If You Can" is a true story. I have the book somewhere. I'll double check though, and will let you know if I'm wrong.

Cheers,
xina.

Yes he was Xina, I didn't say he wasn't, but my following comment about Walter Mitty was badly worded and should have said "A fictional conman.....Not another great fictional conman......sorry for the confusion.

The Duke:- The most hated man in Hollywood.  Dobbed all his friends in during the Mcarthy years.  Didn't matter whether they were communist sympathizers or not he dropped them all in it, result nobody would speak to him for years.
