to all the newbies I bid a warm welcome and a promise that all will settle down in the fullness of time, feel free to ask anything and jump in any time!

to all current members and posters I say keep your chin's up, friendship forthcoming and your attitude positive and we will get through this

to all my friends who have either been deleted or withdrawn their membership I say Bon voyage, travel well in whatever you seek to do, I for one felt honored and privileged to walk beside you in life for a short time, we will of course meet up "on the road" sometime, until then may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine lightly on your face and may the earth rise to meet every foot step and may the gods that be forever glance favorably in your direction

I notice a lot of changes in the nomads of late, some good some not so good, it is up to us and no-one else (regardless of whom or how much we seek to lay blame against) to either make it a good forum or one with petty infighting or jealousy or malice, we make or break the forum

I still notice some petty shots getting fired across the bows of some, this must stop if we simply get back to basics on this forum and stop the grandstanding and infighting (including behind the scenes) then we and yes that is we as in ALL of us can once again rebuild this to what we wish it to be

this is a friendly, outgoing travel forum, advice is given and received freely, friends have the opportunity to meet up and also a place to exchange ideas

this is not the place for grandstanding or infighting or petty jealousy, we are all here at the grace of our webmistress whom has the power AND THE RIGHT to invite or delete at her pleasure, in short this is her sandbox not mine and not yours, if we wish to play in here with her then we behave ourselves in a perceived good natured manner, if we dont like to obey the very few restrictions that Cindy places on us then we have the option of simply bowing out

we have many privileges in here as far as ability to say almost anything that is on our mind, other fora would cut you down before you finished your last word, if we abuse that privilege it will be taken away

I suggest we just get back to simply being a friendly, informative, outgoing travel forum and leave the crap to the others

we are still under observation from other fora and this I welcome, as what I have to say concerns all, when I issue an invite to a meeting this invite will extend to other fora and folks who are "just looking in" as nomads we are all one tribe!

anyway I got to go the fish are calling and I just put the finishing touches to my "hellraiser" a fantastic fly that I have been working on for two nights, hopefully there is a fish out there in a clear mountain stream that likes it as much as I do, mind you he'd have to be a silly one,

but I will see you all in two weeks till then keep your banter friendly and your powder dry, this is a great forum, the only one I would ever consider belonging to lets make it that way again and keep it that way!!

Evening all; havent been on much, too busy doing garden makeover for easier maintenance when next on the road. Very disappointed that some valuable and long standing members have left the forum. Congratulations Dave for encouraging current and new members to "play fair". It is a shame that some supposedly adult and wise people can be so petty. I might be seeking info on travelling north through the middle later on; hubby has applied for a job in Alice so we'll see what happens. Enjoy the weekend all.
