Perhaps another legal way to power up a van on 240V
I discovered to my amazement that my large inverter has a 15 amp outlet and has the SA approval "tick", I have a 60 AMP 12 volt supply so if I were to run the 12 volt into my inverter and then run the van on the 15 amp lead i should be legal... Provided the inverter etc is indoors....

         Hi Basil

        Yes that would be legal.
As long as the inverter is weather protected . But wqhat are you driving your60amp 12v supply from?

The 3 phase GPO in the workshop..... Its an old supply for something or other and has a beaut mercury arc rectifier in it.... I think it may have come out of a Trolley bus because yopu can supply it with 600VAC.

Oh ,  I agree a couple are not,
As for some others ,well, what can I say , not capable of sensible discussion

 two D's,  dickheads your words.

Have to resort to personal abuse.
Do not have a clue of what they are commenting on
.Been used to having every one accept their god given wisdom
Is that why so many have joined this forum & never posted  Or only made 1or2posts

I have respect for Basil 's& Dayrl's knowledges , they can put up some sensible comments as can one or two others

Oldtrack123, I think you need to get to know these people a bit more, granted i havent been here long but what i have found is generaly frendly people who are fairly laid back & helpfull. What i have trouble with is comunicating by written word (never was good at english @ school) I prefer to talk to people that way if ive said something wrong or missunderstood its easier to come to an understanding. If you think this forums bad try some of the others. Ive been there, & ime happier here. Cheers Daryl

   Hi Daryl
I wish I could agree on the above

, But my welcome, by some, indicates other wise .

As soon as  I dared to query their statements the abuse started. I have endeavoured to remain polite right thru but suggest you start @ the start of the 10/15 amp thread re Ampfibian

   Hi Dave
No, it is not another legal solution

THERE is STILL ONLY one.
Basil IS USING A 15/AMP LEAD from a 15amp power source.[Ie A legal lead THATS the same as any normal use .
He is Not  using a 10<15 lead from a  10amp power point
Also from his earlier test he is aware that HIS RCD is not functional WITH THAT ARRANGEMENT
