Lossie was agreat place indeed.The aussies were transfering a/c to the Carrier that the R.A.N had recently bought.I will go back throughmy notes and fill in with a few memories.Glen Fiddich,Glen Grant,single malt scotch.You are a lucky man to have been to that part of the World.I was at Lossiemouth in the winter of 1956 when the harbour froze over,we were snowed in for nearly a month and did many food drops to the local people courtesy of Dragon fly Choppers.Cheers.Ibbo.

Yes Ibbo....Muffs do ring a bell and I am told that is why in Bombay the seal wool was in high demand.................. to line these Muffs with. Is that how it was??

I was reliably informed that the allergy you had at the time was indeed alcoholic poisoning.....Hmmmm?? You see, you forget who I know!!

Unfortunately I lost contact with you after that as I had my own issues and no.........jail was not one of them!! They never did prove that charge!! I think the Admiral realised he made a mistake!!

Anyway I'm glad you found our timid, kind Australian sailors to your liking. What year did you come to Australia??

Ducky,I arrived on these fair shores in 1959.Ah By Gum it were a shock I can tell thee.The poisoning you mentioned was caused by the inbibing of a mixture of meths,shoe polish and brasso.If I needed a spirit I added after shave to the brew.I remember your "Issues"just as well you liked shell fish,crabs etc.Nudge ,nudge,say no more.Ducky the Muffs,what can I say? I nearly lost my life diving for them in the cold,cold waters off Iceland.Better bog off,Matron Meanie is on duty tonight,always puts my Guzzunder out of reach at the bottom of the bed.Cheers.Ibbo.
