Hi Milo, I use a standard Definition set top box since the TV is only an ordinary type, & yes my antena hasto be up. Most times it has to be re tuned/ scann as when you move on the next place usualy has diferent chanels. The main prob with Digital is you only get a good picture or none nothing inbetwean.

hi Milo ..

I think mine is similar to yours .. has the same wind-up function .. and like DeBe, mine needs to be up all the time when used .. and retuned each time ..

I recently purchased a small High Def TV with built in DVD player from JB Hi Fi for under $300. Picks up HD SD and analogue. Works fine in the house and in the van in the back yard with existing antennas in each case. Digital sometimes experiences brief drop outs but the analogue is usually pretty grotty when this happens indicating low signal level.

Just a further question Milo and others how do those antennas like the one in the picture you're referring to perform in areas where the transmitted signal is vertical rather than horizontal. Can the antenna be "swung" so that it sits vertically on the mast or does it perform ok without doing this?

When you get the box where it says the link may be broken, and did you mean-------- ,
just click on that line.
It worked that way for me.
Cheers,
xina.

Our TV has a inbuilt HD tuner and yes, you still need to wind antenna up.
Not all areas have digital available.
