off again

Well after a week in Watermans bay housesitting we are off again. Heading north on the inland way to Tom Price then across to Onslow and back along the coast to Bunbury for another sit end November. Is there anything in particular we should watch out for on this route. We like to know about things to avoid, such as extra dear servo's, as well as to see. Thank you, smile

Well, you should avoid the Nanutarra Roadhouse like the plague.
Exmouth is wonderful, but the whales may be gone by now. They are absolutely amazing and when there are about 12 doing their antics within a few kms of each other, the spectacular.
I stayed at Nanga Bay "Resort" because there's a thermal pool in which to soak. There's a nice beach, a great fire pit around which to socialise, and the fishing is pretty good too.
It's on the way to Denham and Monkey Mia. I wasn't very impressed by Monkey Mia. The dolphin business is better at Bunbury, and cheaper. The caravan park and resort run the dolphin feeding thing, and the CALM (parks) charge $7 to use the car park if you're not booked into the resort/park.
Quobba just north of Carnarvon has amazing blow holes right in front of you, and you have to stand back from the pressure. Gascoyne Junction is very historical I'm told, but I didn't get out that far.
If it's not school holidays Kalbarri and Coral Bay are reputed to be magic, but I was in that area during school hols, so I stayed at Jurien Bay and then headed to Perth. Jurien is a peaceful spot for a few day's rest and fishing.
Onslow is an intersting spot. There's a memorial to the fishermen who lost their lives in a cylcone. The museum has a comprehensive record of the cyclone and royal commission into the whole tragic event. Interesting reading. It's an interesting museum for other things as well.
Now you're making me homesick for the west. I left my heart in Western Australia, which is no where near San Francisco.
