Another Stupid Question - For Van Royce Owners

Dear all, sorry about this stupid question however, I need to sort it out in my (Old) head. We have a 23 foot Van Royce Series 6 van (Second hand from a motor home dealer). I cannot quite understand the wiring. It has one battery and a "smart charger" in the boot. The only 240 volt items are the microwave, airconditioner and 3 way (T) fridge. Everything else is 12 volt. I can find 2 fuse blocks with fuses ranging from 5 to 75 amps. There is also an RCD device installed.

Question, does this mean that there are 2 seperate wiring circuits in the van (12 volt-240 volt).

Regards
Noelnonononono

short answer yes,

if you remove any of the light fittings you will see two globes, one twelve volt and the other 240, the smart charger will charge the onboard battery when connected to "shore power" and then the battery will powewr your 12 volt items when disconnected

Thanks Dave. But that's one of the things that threw me. When I took the light cover off, I was expecting 2 globes. There was only one. One of those new low intensity fluro types. Took all the other covers off an they were the same. I've emailed Royal Flair for a user manual and wiring diagram.

Many Thanks
Regards Noel

it may be as simple as the battery powering up an onboard inverter (that needs to be turned on) this then powers up the whole van in 240 volt mode

have you looked around the battery compartment or nearby for an onboard inverter?

I read it as Humpy referring to how good Dave06 was in his opinion. Note position of the comma.

Guess that is a disappointment to the _Wombat_ who bumped this old post from the Forums original Wombat.

BTW

Dave06 was a very prolific poster in the past, but he did get a little carried away with his posts/stories in late 2009, such that he resigned from the forum.

The Forum thankfully has moved on from that period.

Thank heavens for that too. I think it's the same old wombat, and we already know how good he is.
Let's not resurrect those days. Personally painful. I've moved on.

Forgot to say thankyou for the complement as I am very much a happy snap photographer.

Wombat and wombat..... you would think that usernames would recognize the similarities and not not allow both.

So we will have to remember to use lower case w for wombat won't we?

Didn't know you had the _ either side of you name wombat. With all usernames being underlined it doesn't show up.
