To all you video experts out there HELP!

I have a recently purchased Sony Handycam DCR-SR45 HDD video camera. I am having problems with my editing programme basically getting any video in there. All I can think of is the programme is too old. It was purchased for a DV tape camera and worked fine with that via a firewire connection. This new camera connects via USB and brings up a Sony PMB programme which I dont really like. I am used to my Pinnacle. Anyway my question is this. Is there a good simple editing programme out there I can utilise with this camera? Does anybody know if the latest Pinnacle programme will work with it? A lot I know but there is a lot of knowledge out there. I await in anticipation!

Thanks,

Terry.

Windows movie maker is good as milo says ,you will find it under accessories in you programs if you have xp service pack 2 or higher.
you should have got a CD/DVD with your new Camera with software on it for capture and editing.
If you didn,t contact your supplier.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I have Windows Moviemaker, Pinnacle Editing Suite as well. I can get the video into the computer on a programme that came with the camera called Picture Motion Browser but I cannot get it across to those other programmes. Has me beat. to top it off I was experimenting with ways to get it across and somehow I deleted the whole lot from the computer and the camera. So now for the moment the problem is solved until I take more video of course. Think I will have to get in touch with Sony and see what they have to say. Thanks again, anymore ideas are welcome.

Terry.
