There's no long weekend in Qld or WA, and Qld and WA are in the last week of school hols.
We live in the same country but celebrate historical milestones on different dates.
We're a weird mob which is probably what prompted the movie.

Talking about a wierd mob Granny.
While on our travels we stayed over night at the Daly Waters Pub, during the coarse of the night  a chap with a new Holden ute and a bloke with a copter had a bet to see who could get to MT ISA first. So came morning the ute lined up  the copter hovered overhead and away they went,  was a flash as the ute shot passed ( by the way the ute won, we rang a few days later to get results)
Later on  we were at Exmouth and was talking to a pommie guy and his girl  , I told hi
m about the race  he just sat down and what he said and the way he said it got me  all he said was "Only in Australia, only in Australia' as i was told  Your a wierd mob

Now I definitely know why we stay off the roads as much as possible during long weekends.

Just got back from Milton Hospital, visiting Guru's Mum.  The traffic was bumper to bumper and to add even more discomfort it's raining cats and dogs (we sure do need it though).  Trying to break into the traffic, even going the same way as us, you need the patience of a saint.

As for speed limits, to these "terrists" don't seem to think that they apply to them.  50ks an hour through Milton, yeah as if, more like 80.  Maybe they are dislexic. No offence meant.
