my "signature"

I had my signature ("what have you done today to make you feel proud")  thrown up in my face by a grumpy pm sender this morning, I thought a little about this and now I would like to answer this in my usual, very public way

what I have done so far today is to bathe, dress and feed my darling little "granddaughter", shower dress and feed my fantastic cerebral palsy son, make brekky for my beatifull wife and sweetheart of a  "daughter",

while they shower and I feed myself, I pack my sons lunch and take him off to the respite centre for his day options,

my wife and my "daughter" then trundle off to work, I have given the house the "once over", done the dishes and packed the washing machine, I then have sat at my desk in my office taking care of little R.J., whilst I "work", so far I have achieved almost five hours of work and it is not yet lunch time

for a feller who is still recovering from a mental breakdown with a heart attack complication I feel pretty damn good, mind you the tablets are helping, but in a nutshell, thats what I have done so far today, and I feel damn proud!!

every day is an improvement on the day before

ask me how proud I am, I could burst

that's what I do everyday to "make me feel proud!!!"

WAY TO GO DAVE!!!!!    Haven't actually "met you - YET - but an looking forward to next year when we will be over your way.   Do you think I could get some "brekkie" too.

Bacon, Eggs, Tomato, Toast and of course black pudding.  Just thought I would put my order in now so that you have plenty of time to get supplies.......LOL

You are proud of what you have done today, well ol" buddy - I am proud of YOU.

Regards

Ma

Dave,

Im still trying to catch up on all the posts, so many of them.  I am sorry to hear that you have been ill, it is heart warming to see you are improving.  And what is this about a new grand daughter, congratulations to you and your wife, you must be so proud.  The way I see it the good things in life out weigh the bad.  Yes you have done well and your signature is spot on.

thanks folks, hadnt really thought of my average day before but the prompting of the P.M. made me think a little and yep I'm damned pleased

Ma that brekky, knocked up on the barby will be waiting for you anytime you feel the need to travel, only too glad to have you here for a while

Libby, I damn near died, or worse nearly lost my marbles, I still dont have them all but everyday is an improvement, which gives a whole new perspective on life, thats why I embrace everyday with a smile and music and laughter and surround ourselves with freinds and plenty of laughter, it may just be our last day on earth,

our "new" little "granddaughter" is a story in itself, she actually belongs to a lovely lady that we "adopted", "jules" went through a hard time, relationship wise, we have claimed her as our "daughter" for a long time, well I should say she adopted me when she was a bubby, we took her in as our own when she was preggers and having a very hard time through life, so now little "Rhiannon", her baby, our "grandchild" has joined our fold as well, long story but it is all in my previous posts, as is pretty much all my life,

to say I am proud of them is a huge understatement

Jules is now a very succesfull real estate agent in her own right, just passed her 1 million dollar sale mark, which was hugely celebrated here only last week, very, very proud of my "daughter", not looking forward to the day when they move out

we have two lovely little grandchildren of our own, one boy and one girl, darling little things that we dont see anywhere near as often as I would like, Daddy's always working, he takes after me to that effect

our family here is a very wide, proud and diverse one containing probably 40 plus members (most not related) we proudly have all colors and creeds and religions here, we share almost all meals, we help each other in times of crisis or good times, we used to look after each others kids, we are not all in the same household but share a suburban block of houses all with interconnecting gateways

we hang onto old fashioned interconnected neighborly freindships, at our last wedding we attended there was attendance of 760 people all of which I knew by sight, couldnt remember all the names

hi dave.          let me just say, that everthing you have "said" in your posts, and our pm's.   i can understand and totally agree with 110%.  you strike me as a bloke that has seen a lot of life and you have a lot of common sense.            the       "vocal minority"         in this forum, that cant seem to understand the thinking,of some of your posts.       mate they are missing out on some pearls of wisdom.     your contribution's to this forum, is better than first class,  if half the non- poster's contributed  as much as you have .           how strong would this forum be???????                now to explain myself a bit better, all my life i have called a spade a spade, so if anyone on this forum takes offence at any of my thought's and posts,i say bad luck,as i never will be shouted down by the "        vocal minority"                             well dave i have had my ramble, how do you like my new avatar,  i think we are as good looking as elaine and rob.          ken brown                 ( ps )     your signature is worth gold.

Give yourself a pat on the back, and keep up the good "work"
we all have our own destination in life in which we have no choice, some have it hard and some is bloody difficult, how we cope in what the end result is, is what is called HAPPINESS
look after you mate !

Look, Mate, some days I feel good about myself if I make it to the confuser in the A.M.! (All of 3 metres)

Just reading your posts about your daily activities completely exhausts me.

But, goddamit, we all have our individual crosses to bear and, by all accounts, (mostly yours wink) you seem to be doing a damn good job of porting yours.

Do keep up the excellent work and get all the joy out of it that you can.

I wish you all the bery vest and burger the rest. biggrin

Hi Dave,
Always look forward to reading your posts and wish we had the energy you have and when I read your signature makes me think get off your backside and go do something constructive. Glad to hear little one is doing well and your "daughter"Jules is having a great life as well.We have four little boy grandchildren back home and miss them dearly but with our daughters blessing we are pursuing a different chapter in our lives,we are only given one and hope we are as happy as we can be, you continue to do what you enjoy doing take care Dam what other people think and be proud of all you do,

Ken I was looking at your avatar and thinking what a great looking couple and thanks for your thoughts, keep calling it as you see it, as for the rest of you well I'm not looking for acolades of any kind my day is full because thats just how I like it, i didnt realise just how full but there is still time left over

if you were to map your days activities as I have done then I dont think they would be all that different from mine, just that I had a cause today to sit and reflect on "what had I done today to make me feel proud" I'm just glad to say that I have come up to a standard that pleases me, doesnt have to please anybody else just as long as you or me is/are happy in themselves

and I guess if we can all acheve that standard then there cant be too much wrong in the world, gotta love yourself first before you know how or are able to love anybody else

no crosses to bear here, all pure joy, i dont know how you could cope being too far away from the grandkids, we go for a couple of weeks and I'm a mess, god help me if we ever do get permanent respite and we take off on our "dream life", have to take them with us

little R.J. has woken up and hence why I am back on here, I have actually fallen a little bit behind this afternoon, bubby wanted a play, I cant say no, she seems to have a little bit of colic so just a wee bit grizzly and sooky, very unusual for her

Rolly it sounds to me as if your life is a tuffy in which case you are the one that I look up too, i have a lot of elderly and frail freinds here in our neighborhood and we care for them as much as we can, I admire your coping skills on a daily basis, it is you who should be the proud one here for simply surviving, well done you and keep up the good work

we have decided to take the original two weeks respite offered to us and still shoot up to uluru and the alice, we will still take the tribe with us, they were a bit dissapointed so we changed our schedule a bit and reincoorporated it

ah!! the grandkids "quick fix" I think that's what I will have to do, thank god for tiger airlines

yeah she has settled down a bit now but it is most unusal for her to have a grizzle, she normally has smiles from first thing in the morning to the last thing at night, hope nothing is up, if she is like it tonight I might give our quack a ring and get him to drop by

bit early for teething I would have thought but it may be that, she's having a nap here at the moment

oh I think a few "grumpies" every now and then is a good thing Sue, it increases veiwer participation as well as numbers and wakes up our webmistress, now that Basil has stepped down from his role as "agent provocator" someone had to take up the post LOL!!

a lot that I say is actually "tongue in cheek" (dont tell anyone) but as I say, it increases the ratings no end, it does however end up getting sanctured, so whatever is/was said cant be gone over again, but I do have a very big laugh when I see some of the ridiculous responses

there are a few on the forum that take life in the little glowing box a wee bit too serious and have only the courage to speak out when on the keyboard, I never see this when I talk in the real world, far more respect for the individuals point of veiw, in here only the veiw of the conscriptor is valid

I love to help people, any where, anytime, any how I can, that I thought would have been more than obvious by now in my postings stretching back to a couple of thousand to date ( discounting my break in between), way in excess of anyone here past or present,

out of that number I have gone "off the rails" twice maybe three times, so I dont think thats too bad

I have actually been "attacked" yet again for "falling back on my illness" to drum up sympathy or support in this posting, my illness my business, not out for sympathy, dont need it, dont want it, I function perfectly well without sympathy

it was only upon reflection on what "I" had actually done today that made "me" feel proud that I posted my day at all, then I was attacked for doing so, the emphasis was never on my illness, it was in fact despite my illness I am glad to say that I am still able to function, many dont get that second chance

the emphasis was and still is, that "my" day made "me" feel proud, I wonder what the pm attacker did all day, sat at the computer I guess and corresponded with imaginary freinds

however my main intention for dipping back into the murky waters of the forum was to let you know that bubby is fine, she just has a little very early tooth coming through, she's chewing on everything and dribbling all over me

our doc, Sam came over last night on his way back from his hospital rounds to have a cuppa on the way home, he made me feel like a fool (no big step) he found the tooth starting to poke through, she's happy and smiling again today

I was beginning to suspect swine flue or something drastic, but she is back to her usual self so all is well in Dave's house

Oh!! Ma, the "loaded" pantene went late yesterday after an inspection, so I hope they enjoyed last nights hair wash, supposed to be good for the hair isnt it LOL!!!

Dave, dont you think for one second that what you do is not worthwhile or worthy of pride, the ammount of people that you have helped and the ammount of people that you are helping is superhuman in my books, anybody questions your reasons for pride has got to be queer, obviously they dont know you or the bunch of people that surround you everyday they are there because they love you and every one of them is proud to know you, I know because I have had the pleasure of meeting you and the people that are around you, we are currently in the wilds of north western qld, out where the duelling banjos play, great country, we heard from a couple of your freinds, that you will be in uluru/alice late august early sept. I have sent you an email, so expand the camp and add another 8 on that list, wouldnt miss it for quids, take care and slow down a bit mate, all the best, Michael & Sandy

Mick I've had to cancel the reservations at the alice (too many, too quickly for them) so we will be free camping, I have sent you an email response stating the gps location of our camp, we've also had to break up uluru into a few groups as well so decide which one you wish to be in (names supplied, you know a few of them, some you dont, they are coming from all over) let me know so I can organise an area and a bit of a feed for you

I have placed the response in here as well just in case you miss your email

thanks for the words of support and I hope you enjoy the rest of the trip, outback queensland has it's own set of rules, go with the flow, they are good folks overall, I'd love to be there with you!!

they reckon the cooper is looking dry and is threating the coongie lake system, hell that would be a shame if that went dry, last time we were there she was bank to bank water, innaminka will die if that dries up
