No more Rego Stamp Duty on Caravans & Camper Trailers in NSW

Story in the Daily Telegraph below, NSW, the last state to abolish stamp duty for caravans and camper trailer registrations will now do so.  Unfortunately this does not apply to Motorhomes and Campervans, see link;

Not this time Basil........NSW was the last state to ge in on the act! See extract;

"The end of the "nuisance taxes" from July 1 this year, bringing NSW into line with the rest of the country as the last state to levy caravan stamp duty, will cost taxpayers $32 million in lost revenue over the next four years."

In the past a lot of Sandgropers were registering theirs in Victoria, but as WA doesn't have the stamp duty anymore they don't have too (although a lot of caravan prices etc are still cheaper there for Victorian made vans.........no transport costs added for transport to the West.)

Jeez Vic, when did WA do away with stamp duty?
I paid on my van in 2006. In fact I paid stamp duty on the car and the van in WA.
More info? Cheers Chris

WA got rid of it in '07. I bought my CT there last year and did not have to pay but when the rego came due in Tassie, the transport people wanted me to pay their rates. Consequently, we are still towing a WA reg CT behind a TAS Pajero.
