As many of you are no doubt aware the forums guru of gurus, Dave06, has decided to leave the forum. To say he will be missed is, of course, an understatement of the highest order. He has been with us from the very start and has been instrumental in building the forum into the active, friendly and useful pace it has become. His cheerful and always expert advice will be sorely missed. I am sure all of you will join me in wishing him all the best in his battle against illness. I know that Dave06 is in direct contact with many of you and he has emailed me expressing his desire that the forum stays strong and popular and vibrant despite his absence. He has asked me to encourage all nomads to continue listing on the forum as, in his words, it is the best on the web. Oh, and he says that you should keep the standard high and the good will flowing or he will return and "box your bloody ears". Dave says he is going to miss you members terribly ... but I suspect not nearly as much as we are all going to miss him! The forum, of course, will never be the same without our ultimate guru, but Dave has worked hard to make it the great place it is today. We hope that it will long remain a forum he would be proud of ... a welcoming, upbeat and positive resource for grey nomads and wannabe grey nomads. Good luck, Dave. And a million thanks to you on behalf of the countless people you have helped and encouraged through the forum. You are one of a kind.
Guru & Ma Ulladulla NSW Happy day, safe travelling Ford Ranger towing 21ft Jurgen shower and toilet which was large enough to fit in a few extras (fridge, bed, stove...)
He's only gone for a little while, and he'll be back. I'm sure there are enough of us who can hold the fort and put out the welcome mat in his absence. Let's do it for the website. Cheers Chris

Ditto to all of the above messages!! I posted a message to Dave's last post, thanking him for being the first to welcome to this site; he also was the first and sometimes the only one who responded to any of my posts. Good luck to you Dave and your family. xx Colleen
Yes we sure all miss Dave only being on the forum for a short while I didn`t have the privillege of knowing Dave for very long. But he was always so helpful Good luck Dave get well soon and take good care of yourself. Helena.
Never did get the chance for a campfire chat with Dave & Dragon, but will be forever watching the horizon for lil'Blue & squeaky to appear over the next rise.
I'm not that far from you ole mate, so can be there in a jiffy if you need any help with the "Time Out" or hand to swing a fresh billy.
What can I add that hasn't already been said. Dave, thanks for all the advice freely given, I was as green as you get when I joined this forum, thanks to you I have learnt a lot. All the best mate.
I certainly will miss Dave. Hope the fact that his details and membership have been deleted is not an ominus sign, or does he just want some P&Q?

Maybe, I hope, Dave is reading this. Dave I haven't been around very long, but I am in debt to you (and others) for all the help, advice and tips so far. I am a bit sad to see Baz's post re the deleting of account details, that's kinda final. I hope not though!
Its a bit sad it has come to this, I think a group hug is whats needed and some bonding :))
How about a big barby at Mike or Baz's place? :)) (Baz you are not allowed to provide auditory entertainment hehe)
It seems Dave the Guru and well respected GN has had some health glitch recently. He and his wife lead very busy lives with their jobs, community volunteer service and home life with their disabled son. We are confident he'll be back when the dust settles. We all have glitches in our lives from time to time, and support is all we can offer. So it is with respect we leave Dave to recover from his "glitch". Cheers Chris.
