Where to stay in Mildlura?

We are in Swan Hill, Vic at the moment for the next 3 days - it is cold and wet. Great for catching up on emails and tge dvd's we have been saving up for the proverbial rainy day which is most definitely today!

We will be making our way to Mildura and although I have looked at Badger's site, I notice that many of the Mildura parks need updated information. We would appreciate some recommendations. We will be staying about 3-4 days, love fishing so somewhere where the Murray is easily accessible would be great.

We have just returned from a trip south and spent three days in Mildura.   I can recommend the Mildura Deaking Van Park, it is a big 4.

Don't confuse this park with the one across the road, this one is on the left hand side of the highway heading west.

The owners are very courteous and approachable.  It was 49 degrees when we arrived there on the Thursday night and they couldn't do enough for us.  At the time we were in a Jayco Penguin and owing to the fact that the heat and I don't see eye to eye and I was actually quite distraught when it came to setting up, they couldn't do enough for us.

We considered the tarrif well within our budget and if I remember it was around $26 for an ensuite site.

We have stayed at 2 parks One at Mildura, the APEX Carvan Park on the river downstream from the PS MELBOURNE boarding point. We found that park a nice quiet place to stay most probaly a bit basic but would not hesitate going there again. The other is at GOL GOL on the NSW side of the river 5 mins. from Mildura. Have only stayed in cabins there so cant coment on van sites but a very well kept, friendly caravan park, have stayed there twice i do recomend

Happy Siesta time in Mildura

Definitely the Buronga Caravan Park over the bridge on the NSW side of the river. Great hosts, spotless park right on the river. I spent about 2 months there last year, on and off.
Good luck, Helen

keep away from big 4 golden river hoilday resort. more interested in family cabins than caravans.we were put in small corner where it was almost impossible to park van.so many other nice parks around that area.

thank christ for that, I thought I'd picked a dud, we will only be there one night, just a place to sleep on the way to echuca for the houseboat,

we are booked in for one night at the riverlander c/park in a spa cabin just so we can have a bit of a squizz around echuca before we come back home

because we want a friday night on both occasions I found it hard to find a park that would allow us only one night, most want two nights minimum for weekends

cheeky buggers!!
