Out of the Asylum - finally!

Howdy All,

haven't posted on here for a while, been kinda busy packing and throwing stuff out.
I finally hit the road Monday past and am now at White Cliffs (near Broken Hill - sort of).
I'm down from two mobiles to one, have had one call in the last 3 days instead of 100,  although this may be due to changing my mobile number I suppose?
Bit windy/dusty here at the moment but the evenings and mornings are simply magic - peace and quiet.
The caravan park here is excellent, although there's no grass and few trees just mainly rock and gravel but the amenities are clean and the people are nice.
'she who must be obeyed' - (Sarah my geriatric golden retriever) is having a ball with all the new smells and chasing the rabbits and roos, although 'chasing' is probably too strong a word - giving them the hairy eyeball and a few 'the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak' kind of fast walks is closer to reality - the wildlife is definitely in no danger.
I've ttached a couple of pics here, not sure where they'll turn up though.
Anyway, hope you're all having fun.

Cheers
Mark

Hello Mark.
It sounds as though you've had a complete life change, even changing your mobile number. Very clever.
The open space is the best space to be, and with your loving pet. You're a lucky man.
Do have a a "travel plan"? Or will you point the bullbar in a random direction when the mood takes you?
Doesn't matter! Enjoy safe and happy travels. Cheers Chris

I'm going to 'make' myself stay here at least a month to ensure I don't drop into old habits of rushing to get where I'm going so I can then rush to get somewhere else , will have a wander around the opal mines, get to know the locals and see where it leads me. If it suits I'll stay longer, if not I may wander over to the Kimberley. I'm lucky in that I went 'round the block' over 2 years in the late eighties, so don't have a need to see anything in particular, more after a lifestyle than a need to see anything specific.

Sounds like you have it all worked out just right! Exactly what I intend to be doing in about 2 yrs!
Sarah is just a lovely older girl - nothing quite like a Grand Dame Golden Retriever I have to admit. They ae a lovely breed of dog.

Enjoy!
