Fish Snags

Irishmen and his family straight from The Emerald Isles gets off the boat at the O/S terminal in Sydney.

Afterputting the family in the nearest hotel his wife sends him out to get something truly Australian for their evening meal  so they can all  celebrate their arrival in their new homeland .

First place Patty comes to is a butchers shop in the Rocks so in he goes

Asking the butcher what was a typical Australian meal .

Butcher replies Snags Mash and  Gravy .

Patty understands all about the mash and gravy part but cooking snagsthats another issue having come from a fishing village back home where fish was  the mainstay in the daily diet

So how do you cook snags

No problemsaid the butcher just like cooking fish.

Patty knows how to cook fish in fact he considers himself a master at it .

Ill have 2 kg of those Australian snags that should feed my family of four

Patty takes the snags and off back to the hotel he goes

Next day Patty is back at the butchers looking in the window

Butcher calls out how did the snags go Patty , family like them ok

Yes they loved them replies Patty .

Ill have 4 kgthis time thank you

Thats a bit to many for a family of four Patty said the butcher

I dont think so Patty replies, last night once I gutted the little buggers there wasnt that much left to cook
