Vehicle serviceing

I have had some interesting discourse with my local Kia man. Took the Sorry in for it's first service, they quoted me $280 which I thought was Ok probably because I was comparing it with the Jackeroo. Ok filters not replaced, radio not working..... 3 weeks later and the radio fault has just been found and a part was ordered overnight ie the expletive deleted antenna. Nothing wrong with the radio it was the antenna, wouldn't you check that? they put in a new one and it worked on FM sometimes and the junior cretin when asked "did you check the AM" said "No one listens to AM".......Not happy..... still what do you do if you need warranty work done. There was a brief hissy on Monday when they actually tried to charge me for the filters that they did not fit at the servce and had I not had the presence of mind to check them they would have gone unnoticed....

I'll do the servcieng myself in future, at least I'll know it's done.
Yeah yeah yeah I know someone warned me about KIA, apart from the general malaise that seems to pervade car dealers these days the vehicle itself is exceptional, I'd buy another tomorrow but maybe from a different dealer and not in black. I can wash & wax the thing in the garage and the instant you open the door it's covered in dust which being a black car stands out like the eiffel tower

unfortunately the "service" has gone from service stations regardless of the type of vehicle, and also regardless of vehicle type routine mainenence must be performed, perhaps a word to magerial stafff is in order

this mis-service is not good enough,

yep black cars, look nice but oh boy they love the dust, I once owned a jet black x2 (the one that was highly modified) hd holden with red interior, hell you couldnt go near it in summer and impossible to keep clean, only had it for twelve months

Now it sounds like another bitch session but unless you complain and keep complaining until the manufacture or suppliers takes note of the many complaints about their product and after sales service the status quo remains and mediocrity wins through. We have grown far to soft in standing up for our rights, it won't fix itself

Dealing with a salesperson is one thing but when you get to the service department your pride and joy and that warm fuzzy feeling about your new car purchase turns to crap before your eyes.

Stick it up em

They don't like it up them do they Captain Mainwarring? All being documented, already the Canberra Times has been advised and have "had a word" so to speak. When I get the car back is the time to stick it up em, just the facts...Don't want to leave myself open for litigation.....

KIA have an excellent vehicle in the current Sorento really the top of the range for the mid sized SUV's and I've driven them all in the last week or so trying to settle on one .

Have spoken to a lot of owners of KIA 's and they all seem to be very disappointed in the after sales area, other than that they are all very happy with their purchase Most seem to take their new cars to outside service agents . Maybe KIA needs to know this.

Reading the sales pitch on the 2010 Sorento, release possible NOV in OZ, and it seems like KIA is taking backward step reducing the chassis strength hence, lowing the tow capacity to 2000kg. In OZ where we travel big miles and tow big trailers and vans 2000kg is really pram size and with all the other makes already filling that SUV market between 1600 and 2000 it's going to be a little cramped in there for yet another pram mover.

I got an email from KIA customer service, they have appointed a "case manager" and will investigate my "allegations". This was after the Canberra Times told them that they may loose clients to other service companies if this dealer continues to be "acrimonious & appear incompetant".
Shame it has to get to this my KIA is really most impressive for the price I paid. Could not have done better.

they really are a surprise package and come with everything, similar to the hyundai that daryl brought me home with when I put the magna in to get the regulator fixed, we attained a speed of 30 kms per hour and all the doors locked automatically, strange feeling but apparently it's a safety feature on the new suvs,

wasnt really all that quiet though a lot of road noise even at low speeds

Don't those little plastic SUV's disposable. Perhaps your service centre was in such a state of shock they forgot the service protocol. The operative word is SERVICE.
You have to stand up to some of these places to show them you're an intelligent vehicle owner, and know where your money is going. Speak up or lose.
It's your hard earned money you're looking after, and you pay them good money to do so.
They probably saw you Basil as a silly old man who doesn't have a clue.
They got that wrong didn't they? Stand up for your money. It's a disgrace you had to alert the local media to expose their business practices and shame them into submission.
What happened to good old customer service? You are not a nuisance, you are a customer.
Have a happy day. Chris
