The road from Blinman, North of Wilpena to Parachilna on the road to Leigh Creek and Marree passes through the Parachilna Gorge which is one of the most beautiful arid land areas I've ever seen. Every bend of the gorge has a roadside pull-off which is a free camp site. The sign at the beginning of the gorge sets no restrictions regarding camping, but simply makes the usual requests regarding respecting the environment and taking away your rubbish. There are NO facilities whatsoever at any of these sites but who cares?
