Travellers out there

Just back from five lovely days in the Flinders Bay caravan park in Augusta at the south-west tip of WA. Has about 110 bays, many of which are delineated by tall "hedges", creating a nice sense of privacy and a noise barrier.
What interested me was that it was as full as the proverbial Catholic school: there are a LOT of GNs out there!
The park accepts dogs, and there were scores of them. No trouble, not even any annoying barking. No ankle biters, interestingly.
But judging by the number of Viet Veteran stickers on 4WDs, there were enough old diggers to form at least a platoon!
Came back home with the feeling that when I head out again, I need to book well in advance.
Cheers, Tony

Hello Tony

We are intending to try out Flinders Bay C.P. before heading off on our big round Oz trip.  We were already aware that pets/ dogs were permitted so were going to take our golden labrador for a holiday with "Mum & Dad" in Augusta before handing him over to our daughter to look after while we're playing "Grey Nomads"!

Payback time for all the times we've had to look after her cats while travelling overseas (she's in Vietnam now actually).

So hopefully we'll get down to Flinders Bay in the coming weeks....... sounds like the perfect spot.

many parks now realise that to allow pets means your park is full....I hope you felt safe with all the veterans around - you know they like you if they offer to buy you a Siagon Tea....
