roll out awning for van


hi all
trying to find a good place to buy a roll out awning for the side of a pop top van the self supporting type. no poles. to be honest don't even no where to start, i did go to a caravan accessory shop but that scared the cr**out of me the price they wanted. or am i behind the times. hope some one can help thanks in advance.

Hi Al, welcome to the forum....
Yes mate the prices are extortionate but unless you can pick up a second hand one you will have to deal with a dealer. I hope you don't consider it presumptious of me to ask but who is going to install it?
I've had a little experience with these things and so much as loosten the wrong screw and it's all over red rover. Unless you feel competant to do the instalation yourself and that would include the strengthening of the van at the attachment points I'd advise paying an "expert" to do it.....

Gday Al, welcome to the nuthouse, completly agree with Basil, they are expensive but if you hit a power cable or a gas line it could turn out far more expensive than first imagined

ebay sells them but be carefull as to quality

Hi Al you can do a Google search but Coast to Coast are a supplier of those type of things www.coastrv.com.au. they are Australian wide but i think you would be better to talk to a caravan repairer and get a qoute or caravan dealer who may be buying at a better price than we could good luck kept searching
