Victoria Fires

Our prayers go out to those who lost love ones...their homes, and treasured belongings...in those terrible fires....
As a firefighter.I also pray for the CFA firefighters to be safe.

Dave

Yeah, we have one 35kms north of here at Frances, and when it started the CFS plane flew over with it's siren going to warn us. We waived out in acknowledgement, then they in turn waived back with the wings of the plane. I was covered in goose bumps and choked up with emotion!
My thoughts are with them all!

Yes Dave, we share the same thoughts as you.

Only 3 weeks ago a bushfire in our little town in W.A. destroyed 5 houses, forest plantations and around 20 farms, but the fact that nobody lost their lives makes our community feel lucky in comparism.

Horrendous days. I have offered to volunteer as I am in my van within an hour and a half of Kinglake and can live on site where needed. But so many people have offered themselves that it may be some time before I hear. As it is cool and cloudy today we can hope it rains, but not likely. At least the wind has died down for now. It is wonderful that the country pulls together in times of crisis. Helen

Maybe you could keep watch for the low life looters who are preying on the fire victims. There can't be much left to loot, but even the thought of someone poking around in the wreckage of cars and houses where people have died is too much for my little mind to comprehend. They should be putting their energy into helping, and if they're caught, they should get jail and community service to work as a volunteer in the CFA.
What happened to the morals of these people? It doesn't bear thinking about. Granny

Granny.......
theres some very sicko ppl out there...looters as well as arsonists....should be treated the same....locked away and never to be released....I've been a firefighter in SA for over 25 years.......and it never ceases..to see sicko's doing this...they are just vultures.preying on the missfortune of others.

While..we think of the victims.of Vic fires.....spare some time .thinking about those in Queensland floods

Thankyou

Dave

the old warhorse in me is pulling me ever closer to the volunteer station but they wont let me, too many injuries, but oh boy my thoughts are there, give me a shotgun and I'll guard whatever is left!!! I've already donated all my spare cash for the forseeable future, I just hope it helps a little. but my god if you are there amongst it, I'm praying for you!!!!! been amongst it many times, I wish I could help more!
