Hi fellow travellers, I have just joined the Grey Nomads and had a squiz at the general layout and think it's fab...keep up the good work. Can anyone tell me of a van park that caters to the over 50s in the lower NSW coastal area and also Lakes Entrance in Victoria. In fact, ANYWHERE in Australia would be good for future travels, but at the moment the above areas. If there isn't anything like this in these areas, somewhere that is lovely and peaceful. Has to be by the water, but can be either beach, lake or a bushland setting with a nice river. I know in this fantastic country we live in there has to be SOMEWHERE. Cheers, LADYG....
Just want to wish you a warm welcome to our little forum, LadyG.
As for suitable van parks sorry, we're on the wrong side of Australia, but I'm sure someone in our forum will be able to point you in the right direction. We will be in that part the country in a few months so some feedback may also be useful for us over 50's.
Can I welcome you to the forum? It's a great little place we have here, hope you enjoy it... South Coast of NSW 2 places I'd reccomend on the water that cater to the more mature traveler,
Zane Grey at Bermagui 02 6493 4382 Bermagui is a lovely spot that has a slightly sophisicated feel about it but still retains is "Coastal Village" atmosphere,

Thankyou for your welcome....I am very impressed with the quick replies I've had already. Will check out these parks now, and thankyou for your help. Cheers, Lady G.
amd a little bit from a queensland, Try the caravan park right on the water at 1770, perfect for the fisherman, and an ideal spot for a layback rest, another for the bush lover is the freebie under the bridge heading west at the Burnett river heaing east from Charters Towers, and one in NSW is Boultons Crossing west of the south side of the bridge at Macksville, might have to pay a little moolah, not a good place in school holidays welcome to the forum M&J
G,DAY LADYG AND A WARM WELCOME IM sorta about 4 hours from the coast [rather the inland] but any where down the NSW or VIC coast u will find im sure what u are looking for may i suggest that u buy CAMPS AUSTRALIA issue 4 [ummm maybe 5 is out]
they are a great bunch of shielas and blokes in here and full of good news and many a smile enjoy
Camps Australia put out a new book every two years and their next one, Camps Australia 5, is due for release on March 1st 2009. We will wait till then and buy the latest edition

Can't speak for other states, although things in the way of inland water in Victoria are becoming pretty dismal at a massive rate of knots.
Healesville is a nice little spot, but not a lot of waterways. I think the Murry is about the only running river left kicking, that is if it is actually still running. Most of the rivers in Western/Central Vic have gone to the pack, and all that remains is stagnant patches.
Hi Ladyg Notice that you come from that little cold island in the middle of NSW. A suggestion, Lay out the map of Queensland, spray it with a handfull of sand, and for each grain there will be a spot that you would like hehehehehehe M&J
LOL....not so cold at the moment though....phew, but that does sound like a plan. Trouble is, can't travel to Queensland with our boys (two ferrets Jordee and Malaki) as they are illegal there. Do love that part of the world though, and have seen some of it BF (before ferrets). Hopefully will retire in Nambucca Heads in the not too distant future. Cheers, Lady G.

I'd let the ferrets loose at Pine Island/Point hut/Kambah pool to terrorise the snakes..... You could take the ferrets to Bermagui with you they have all manner of pets visiting there, Ive seen cats, dogs, a python, parrots, rabbits, a duck and a chook.....

Hi there, I have stayed at Lake Tabourie -river mouth/ocean, south of Ulladulla. Had the van in the camping section with a view of the water. Also like the Buronga Park on the NSW side of the river at Mildura. This is right on the river and has great facilities and lovely hosts. Also the park at Robinvale has very pleasant grassed sites right on the river. Have stayed at Wallagareagh Retreat on the river just south of the NSW /Vic border, off the Princes Highway. Quiet and pleasant and a favourite with fisherpersons. No 2 in the Vic section of the Camps 4 book. Best wishes for Happy and Safe travels. Cheers, Helen
