I follow the blue skys, not the sun as such, and thank bloody goodness I left Vic and Sth aust when I did, you people down there are getting a little warm, its a lovely day here expected top 32 and humidity about 55%, jealous
Yes its going to be 43 on the murray today but the good news is we are getting a cool change in a couple of days and its only going to be 38 then. Cool changes aren't what they used to be.
38 at 9 o'clock every morning this week topping out at 52.4 at 4.30 under our back veranda which is a large structure so gives a good representation, our over night temperatures have been between 32 and one night of 35 so without the air con it would be very uncomfortable, fires shooting up everywhere, the old warhorse in me is champing at the bit to jump on the truck whenever I hear the sirens, very hard to just sit here and let the boys go out, day time top of 32 sounds mighty tempting
put an old thermometer out in the full sun, ten minutes and it blew the top off,
never mind Tassies not that far away, just have to travel in 40 deg temp tommorow to get there, ah!!! two weeks of cool!! cant wait!

Geez Dave I remember when I had airconditioning on all four doors, was going home to Adelaide from Barmera one summer in the 70's, by the time we got to Adelaide I was just a grease spot on the seat and in those days the car suffered from alcoholic constipation, it couldn't pass a pub, gee those lemon squashes were lovely and cold.

yep!! I dont mind it too much even though I have got a bit soft of late, old cfs firefighter myself so I have stood toe to toe with a few mates fighting in the high forties, but I was younger then, firebugs are actually few and far between, if they shot the ones they caught, they would quickly die out, it's always the same one's
I remember the flow through ventilation that is touted in modern vehicles now, wind the windows down and sink the boot was the answer to all the oveheating, and I remember my vehicles always having the same illness around those public houses, a lot of it about in those days
I just worry about the dragon she's not in the greatest of health in the best of times, female illnesses, hot flushes and all that crap neverlone getting her overheated, so it will be steady as she goes and wheres the next waterhole, may even hole up in one of those horrid places and travel a bit in the dark, I know a few free camps down that way

must say I'm not getting much work done here today, it's piling up, oh well always tonight!!!

The worst thing about firebugs is they are often firefighters, members of their local CFS. They think they're heroes for going out there and fighting their own fire. I don't know what would happen if their fellow fighters and their victims caught them. The buggers need psychological help obviously, and the mental health services have a lot to answer for these days. Too many fruit loops are loose on the streets, and their victims have no defence or right of reply. The damage they do in the community is more than dollars. The insurance companies would also probably like a piece of their hide. My thoughts are with the folks in the south of the country through this heat wave. In spite of the threat of cyclones at this time of the year, and the humidity of course, I somehow prefer the tropics climate and lifestyle. My bones prefer it too.
