If you have access to the Internet I offer the following as evidence your honour....

www.weatherzone.com.au (Also if member there lightning tracker rocks)
www.bom.gov.au

Other then that, ABC radio which is justabout everywhere.
If you have a HF radio or shortwave radio you can alos listen to the shower services in NT. They are:

Roe Creek (Alice Springs): (Day) 4835    (Night) 2310
Katherine:  (Day) 5025    (Night) 2485
Tennant Creek:  (Day) 4910    (Night) 2325
-All freqs in KHz, Txm in AM Mode-
Eg: 4910 KHz = 4.910 MHz

Coverage is most of the Kimberlys.
Not sure of power, but I would say nothing above 1K
And these are ABC local radio re-broadcast, not Radio Australia.

ahhh!! I'm glad you asked, now we carry a very complicated piece of kit in the way of a length of rope, one places it carefully in an apropriate nearby vertical position (tree) observation may then be carefully measured on an hourly basis for the correct readings to be forthcoming, then documented as required

(1) if she's swaying backwards and forwards, its windy, the further the motion the windier it is, if shooting straight out on the vertical its gailforce and you probably should seek shelter

(2) if it is dry and hanging very loose, then the weather is sunny and still, if hot to the touch then the temperature is probably high, if dry and moving then it is fine and windy

(3) if it is dripping and wet to the touch then it is raining, if very wet to the touch and shooting out on the vertical then its stormy

my many years of weather observations (looking out of little blues window before arising) tells me this very expensive and technical peice of scientific aparatus is very seldom wrong, if a fault develops, however unlikely, be sure to take it back to the distributer (Bunnings) for a full refund or replacement

caution must be taken when handling such delicate equipment, they have been known to have caused death when misused (as in hangings in prisons) and in some instances entanglement

G'day Dave,

I remember a woman in Queensland selling an information kit to tell the weather for $25, kit incliuded the same info, she apparantly made quite a few dollars.

She was sued by a disgruntled purchaser and if my memory serves me correctly she won the case as her advert simply stated she would send the info to tell what the weather was doing, and she did just that.

Best Regards and Safe Travelling.

John

First 2 items in caravan are plenty of beer and at least 1 bottle of 12 year old scotch. Have never yet run out.

I have been given an electronic weather station that seems to forcast the weather with around 75% accuracy, gives storm warnings etc. It  has an outside wireless remote to send the info to it.
Very similar to this one;
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=XC0335&CATID=&keywords=weather+station&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=

Don't quite know how it does it but it forcasts storms exceptionally well.

This same woman sold many kits to make your penis look 3 times larger for $27.50. The kit contained a magnifying glass............

Big W have the same unit that includes the daily tides . Not so useful if in Alice Springs.  Your Jaycar price is also cheaper
