Speedy Medical Prognosis

Early last March when carrying a 40 kg back of chicken food to the chook house, I trod onto the edge of a chickens dirt bath hole. 'OUCH' yep, twisted the ankle and hurt enough to make a grown man curse swear & blaspheme.
Since that day I have hobbled around with a crook ankle/foot, told my GP,got the offending foot x-rayed, nothing visible except old age...he advised physio, did that. Physiotherapist said she couldn't do anymore for me.  GP said, go to a Podiatrist, ok, did that, said I required inserts into both boots, yep! did that, and the pain continued until last week.  My GP wasn't available and saw the locum..."Hmmm, I do believe you need a Nuclear Bone Scan", so off I hobble, have this injection of molecular isotope (glow in the dark stuff), and told to walk around for next 3 hours so as this gunk will somehow attach itself to injured bones. Crawled back after hobbling for 3 hours, 55 minutes of scans, then 2 days wait for the result.
Phone call from medical receptionist....err ! you have a fracture of the Navicular and a small bone chip off the Cuboid.
Now to wait until middle of next week to visit the Orthopaedic Surgeon and get his prognosis and necessary fix.
Gosh !  March - November, is that a record for speed?

P.S. amazing pictures of my feet, showed a piece of broken Box Thorn  under my heel area dating back to my youth, and badly repaired broken bone from an incident 40 years ago in the other foot.
Almost time to have a "Toe Truck" on standby.

Hey Griz this is Australia.... Just think yourself lucky you are not in a developed country where medical tests are de rigour. Anyway did you honestly expect immediate results? LOL....Were you able to use your foot as a "light sabre" ???? I've go an appointment with a Dr this afternoon and I know what he is going to do - remove a toe nail, I'll be hopping after that one...

Grizzly you were luck to have found a smart locum my husband totally snapped his achilles couple of years ago the locum said its a sprain take some panadol after 3 more weeks of agonising pain went to a different doc who made a correct diagnosis in 30 secs and he was off to have surgery the next morning. I had one of the glow in the dark injections and bone scan last week they are pretty boring especially when they strap your arms down and tie your feet together sort of has that you have been committed feeling.  Hope you finally get an outcome after you see the surgeon. chezgo

now grizz if you had came to me I would have told you that you had snapped your hyperglobin and dislodged your vanacular, it was of course obvious for a medical man fresh out of the over the net indian school of financial gain, and I wouldn't have charged you half as much as he did either

cheryl, I've heard about these sheilas who like to be tied up, but feet together has me puzzled??? I had a person wanting to give me a glow in the dark injection, wanted it in the dark, go figure, wont trust them again not even for two sticks of licorice this time

Dave this sheila isnt too keen on getting tied up and the most annoying thing is you always get an itch where the machine is over the top of you this time the feet when they were tied together. But the most boring bit was 50minutes of listening to Enya (not my type of music) and the only other choice was Hi 5 I'm not sure how Hi 5 would keep a child still maybe the kids could listen to Enya it would put them to sleep. ( forgive me any fans if I spelt her name wrong not quite sure on the spelling of Enya) chezgo
