I am the Sydney based researcher for a French documentary production company called Gedeon Programmes. We are shooting a documentary called "Nomad's Land" for Channel + (French national broadcaster) in December and our crew will be traveling from South Australia to Darwin. The documentary follows French adventurer Chris Cousin while visiting different places, characters and lifestyles in Australia.
We will be traveling from Coober Pedy to Alice Springs on the 8th Decmeber and would be interested in meeting and filming with some "Grey Nomads" in the area. The filming would take half a day max.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in being involved or know people in the area. From Sat (24th Nov) onwards I will only be reachable on my mobile.
It would be great if you could get back to me ASAP as we would like to find someone as soon as possible.
Hi Sandra, Good luck, but most Grey Nomads are back south or hugging the coast by December. Fact is Grey Nomads don't have to put up with uncomfortable weather, and it can and does get very hot up there from November onwards.
What you will find is a smattering of Ozzie tourists who are on their annual holidays (and can't negotiate the dates with their employer), plus a heap of European (mostly German and Swiss) tourists who, likewise have little choice in the dates that they travel, or who did not know any better!
