This is a great camping spot, especially if you can get down under the old railway bridge. The view over the Burdekin River is lovely and the river water is clean and clear. It requires an off road vehicle or at least one with good clearance BUT if you are precious about train noise...this is not a campsit...

Just heard on the news that Queenslanders will be getting two Queen's birthday public holidays in 2012 as a one off, one in June and one in October. From 2013, the Queen's Birthday holiday will be celebrated 1 October instead of June which gives us a long weekend in the latter part of the year.
