I have been comparing various (and many) 200watt panels, and my van repairer (a very well informed guy) recommended a flexible panel for a variety of reasons. But there is a problem of how to fix it (bond/glue) it to the roof to provide adequate airspace/insulation to maintain as close to the 25 degree...

Thinking of making a "aluminium tray " for underneath of roof rack mounted solar panel to cut down on wind noise, maybe?, The bottom of tray will still be 50mm above Landcruiser roof to give some heat relief and leading edge will be shaped a bit to blend into cross bar as well as hold it there. A bit like sit...

Our son Cary finished fabricating the solar/LFP array on our 2002 Roadtrek 190. There are two panels: 315 W and 100 W. Since they have different voltages, he had to utilize two chargers. Our Dometic 3 way full size fridge freezer has died after 12 years. We need to replace it, but the cost of a similar fridge is very expensive. Went through other sub-fora and found nothing on reducing solar loading. We just purchased and trialed an aluminized open weave sail screen netting. We only got a 8' x 7' section to cover the rear of our 34' fifth wheel (11 m). It greatly reduced solar loading and probably reduced internal temperatur...

Hi Folks, I have a 6V 5Ah lead-acid gell battery which I use in a Dolphin torch. I don't have my 6V charger handy, so thought I would use my regulated variable power supply (max current: 1A) to charge it. I set the voltage to 7.2 volts but this produced only a trickle of current (about 30 mA). I raised the vol...
