Not to be confused with the weir free camp site. Sad news I'm afraid. Just as things were starting to dry out nicely, down it came again last Friday 8/10. 60mm in 1hr & total of 75mm o/nite. Had one brave visitor who I advised not to come & guess what, hopelessly bogged his V8 Landcruiser with Kedr...

Stayed a few nights at Oakey Creek reserve about 3 km south of Bowenville Qld, near Dalby, great site, large grassed area, very clean, nice creek, toilets but no water or power, well worth a stop and no limit. Sure beats paying an arm and a leg in Dalby which has to be the unfriendliest town in Queensland

Gday... I spent two nights at the Tiaro QLD (south of Maryborough) free-camp and found it a pretty good spot. Tiaro is a small town - pub (one on main Hwy and a historic one out of town a bit), supermarket, cafe. It was a very popular free-camp with 16 campers first night and 18 the next. However, when I woke...

Stayed at this site on Tuesday night, Camps 6 #: 891. This is about 40 klms south of Goondiwindi. There is a big carpark with a drop loo there but the best spots are down behind the sealed parking area in the bush. Nice spots to have a fire but way too noisy up the top with all the passing trucks. About a 3/5 in o...

Number 443 in Camps 6, but it's not in Camps 5 at all. It's the showgrounds/pony club. $5 per night if you use power, pay at the local store, otherwise a donation towards the historical society. The shower/toilet block is only made from Besser blocks, but they are clean and the showers are hot. Lovely...

Has anybody been to Loyalty Beach, nr Seasia, Cape York? I have been to the top a few times in my old Hilux but usually tried to free camp. My nephew has a TI partner and they have a new daughter, who I would like to see, so I have good reason to go up, besides the fishing , and the sceenery.

Management and I have just arrived back home after 6 days at Boondooma. Really enjoyed the place, very peaceful down by the lake where we camped. There are good amenities and powered sites up the hill, but we liked camping by the water. $16 per night for two. Fires and pets allowed. Potable water 2...
