Ballingup, WA
(Preview)
I'm thinking of heading down to Ballingup with the van in late August for the Medieval Carnival. Can anyone suggest a site as I'm sure the transit park in the town will be full. Camps 6 is not much help in this instance and the visitor's websites are worse than useless.

top 'van park
(Preview)
At the time of writing, the Kalgan River 'van park, 10 k's east of Albany is, the least expensive in town , and one of the best 'van parks I have stayed in. It's right on the river, and 600 mtrs. off the main road. The facilities are basic, but the seclusion more than makes up for it. There is a golf course, whi...

Another Van Park Demise

Not so much a recommendation, but advice of the closure of another park, to make way for the mining folk. The Capricorn Roadhouse on the Great Northern Highway, WA, near Newman has closed the caravan park space and made lots of room to develop accommodation for mining personnel. BHP has a huge accommo...

Great new managers at Longreach Tourist Park - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
(Preview)
Stayed at this park for 3 days of the past weekend. Even though we had read bad reports on other forums a lack of choice in Longreach left us no other options. Got to say it was THE best decision we've made to date. It has recently changed to a Top Tourist park and has new owners who have taken over in the last 2...

Pussy Cat Flats, Pine Creek NT

Stopped in at Pussy Cat Flats at the Pine Creek Turf Club NT for a few days last week & really enjoyed ourselves, $8.50 pp-pn powered site. It was well kept & clean with level turf sites. There is only one meeting annually but I think they only accommodate vans in the dry season. The manager, Renn...

For a small fee you can park on the banks of the River Murray. Fire drums are provided, but you have to bring your own wood. There are flushing toilets, but no showers. They charge a little more for power. A small price for a nice spot in SA. It's the heart of the orange growing country.
