Called in to CAMEC the other day looking at gas bayonet fitting and hose to connect bbq. was informed that as of Nov2019 ALL fittings using the gas bayonet fitting on a van must have a gas flame failure fitting.(SEE PHOTO) Apparently Weber Q's do not comply with this new rule (CAMEC says). (Preview)
There was a segment on Channel 10, The Project tonight on caravan rollovers. A guy who rolled his van said he accelerated to try and prevent the sway from getting bigger. Question: should you accelerate out of the sway or just take your foot off the accelerator to slow down. I expect the use of the brake i...

After 3 long years I am itching to go back to travelling. I intend going from Yass area to Mt Isa. Even now, we are being bombarded with adverse weather predictions. Whilst it hasn't rained here nearly as much as elsewhere it is still muddy underfoot and grey clouds all the time. I don't think we have h...

Campervan on a Train?
(Preview)
OK, might sound a bit wacky. Just a thought. We can't really take months off work at this stage, but 2-3 weeks is manageable. If I wanted to drive from Sydney to Perth for example, but come back on the train. Is that doable? Or a mad idea? For a Sprinter size campervan (not motor home) Just found a random s...

Day four of my captivity and an escape attempt: The night had been cold (3C), the ground was wet and soft this morning as I prepared the vehicle for my escape; removing unnecessary equipment and loading empty water and fuel containers. Finally all was ready and I headed towards the river track - when we...

Curious to know what tow vehicle make/mode/year (likely 2nd hand no doubt) would people go for to tow a 2800-3500kg caravan, but with a good amount of payload left for the vehicle (after GVM/GCM/Towball etc calcs). Assuming budget of $50k-$80k. Landcruiser 200 series holding their value well, so...

Well, for those who want fast internet at home and on the road anyway. Very small size, very easy setup, fast log-on and way better speeds that I get either at home or via the phone on the road. And for no extra monthly cost either https://photos.app.goo.gl/GJRbe9Qkb2QkggJH7 -- Edited by Tony LEE o...
