Where to stay between Rockhampton & Hervey Bay

Looking to head north this year and thought we may find somewhere between Rockhampton and Hervey Bay to stay for a few weeks or more instead of moving most of the time. Realise we may need to book something. Any suggestions of nice places to stay . Thanks for your help.
