G'day, The B.O.S.S. and me have a 15 foot, 1984 Jayco Songbird Poptop and as she is a little long in the tooth I decided the time was right to retension the springs and undersling the axle to gain a little more ground clearance, well bugger me now I need mountain climbing gear to get in the damned thing,...

Also Sauvignon Blanc -Murf's has two -NZ wines which are quite good in my view -Toi Toi $9.50 and Overstone $...

This might seem like a silly question, but to a newbie who is just starting to plan ahead for our nomad adventure, how do you cope with laundry duty when you are on long trips? Especially if you are trying to stay bush, or in National Parks as much as possible? Thanks for a great site, I will be making the mos...

You can bet your bottom dollar on it , ready to go to South West Rocks in the morning and the bloody fridge has fagged out not getting cold on 240V, compressor running and all seems in go position . Could it require just simple regassing, it's about 8 Years old. Know bugger all about the working of van fr...

We have a tent style camper trailer and would like to know where other campers have their fridge. We have a 32 litre Engel. Is it best to place it in your vehicle or in the camper? If we put in a dual battery where does this battery go? For longer trips should we use the fridge as a freezer and use an esky as well...

To all the ADF Vets out there you will be pleased to know that the government is reviewing a situation where our families were getting ripped off even after our death . It took a lot of work by a lot of people to get the government to even recognize that there are anomalies in the DVA system so getting it...

We are from Melbourne and are about to realise a long held dream of hitting the road and joining the Grey Nomad tribe. Learned a good caravan lesson today, on my first trip with a new van (a Jayco Flamingo wind-up camper). Lesson is this: when you leave your driveway, check that the bloody van parking brake is NOT on. Becos if you don't, about five kms up the road, a horrible smell will come when you put the brakes on at a tr...

As the date nears for the van to arrive, the questions are going to be posted at a rate of knots! Question: should we consider a water filter? If yes, what is best? We are not going bush but will be free/independent camping when possible.
