G'day Lapamovski and welcome to the forum.  Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit. Plenty of great advice and folks on here.

Can't help re your enquiry as we are based in the West

Just look up 'Driver Training Schools' in the Yellow pages, I'm sure there would be half a dozen within the Sydney area. The secret to happy safe & enjoyable caravan towing is, never rush to get where your going, just because the speed limit might be 110kph you should NOT try to do that speed just to keep up with the traffic, get over in the left lane and drive to a speed YOUR comfortable with. Pull over when safe, to let other motorists past. You will find a highway speed that is your 'Sweet Spot', mine is 97kph. Also, when you have a long drive from point A-B then STOP after every couple of hours and have a Thermos of hot coffee at the ready. Get out walk around, have a coffee for 10 minutes, makes a big difference !.

Welcome to the gang Lapamovski, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I agree with Pariss. My "sweet Spot" mmmm, didn't know I had one as I have never been told. Now if he had have said 'mongrel of a spot' I would know biggrin Oooops, Pariss is taliking about speed, silly me.

In that case then, my "sweet Spot" is 93kmh. Yes 3. Over that and the tacho goes over 2,000. 93 sits under and purs along. On the flats, if not for me checking mirrors and rear camera on back all the time I would forget the aluminium teepee is there.

I have seen many times people pass me like they are low flying and as they get in front their van has the wobbles. I then back off and keep a good distance to allow me time to take action if needed. ALWAYS read the traffic ahead and behind at all times. I also tend to plan my driving through big cities before the bulk of traffic starts. Works for me.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Welcome to the forum, Lapamovski

I am not from the Sydney area, so I can not help you, on where the best towing course is

There is no harm on going on a towing course

The only tip I can give you is to drive within your own comfort zone
I towed an old pop top caravan, with a six cylinder ford car, and my sweet spot, was approximately 90 kph

Just make sure that you are aware of the vehicles behind you, and allow them to pass as soon as possible

Hope that you have many happy road trips ahead of you
