Caravans and Motorhomes flooding in Cairns

Do caravan and motorhome people not follow news reports and weather forecasts and move out of danger , The risk of flooding in this area was known for days so why stay put , Is we have paid for a week and we need to get the time we paid for , will now they are paid a lot more for repairs or replacement .

I live on my weather apps, hence I'm the loudest whinger when I run into the many Telstra black spots as I do.
I don't think a lot of travellers check the weather. I was stuck with no internet in July in a place that was expecting 80mm and floods and would of made it hard to get in or out. I knew due to my satellite, but it was very broad information. For days I asked people that were coming and going prior to the event about the expected weather being they'd just come out of Alice and not one of them knew about the weather event due.
A lot of people flying by the seat of their pants out there.
I'm still stuck where I am because I know it's the safest place to be. It was a decision I made some time ago......killing me being in the one place.....but stupid to move off anywhere else at this point in time.
