A BIG WELCOME TO ALL NEW GREY NOMADS...

A big welcome to all new Nomads who have recently subscribed to this very informative Forum. There is a (sticky) post called WHO IS THIS on the top of the page in the I DIGRESS Forum, which is a competition that has been running continuously now for a long period of time, where people post photos of famous people and others try to guess who they are. There are now many nomads who have joined the Forum in the past months, and all are invited to participate to make a contribution to this page. The photo posted will be of a famous person. If you guess correctly who it is, it becomes your turn to post a photo to try to baffle us. Your participation will be most welcome. Each time you log on to the Forum, check out WHO IS THIS and help us to make the game more interesting and fun for everyone.

Regards, Ken.

Hello Everybody,

I am posting for the first time. Technology is not my forte. I have actually been forced into it and having a deal of problem understanding any of it.

Mid July my darling and I are planning a trip roughly as follows-

1/ Wollongong to Bourke,Winton, Longreach etc to Three Ways onto Darwin

2/ Darwin , Alice Springs, Port Augusta ,Adelaide for 25 Aug

3/ Adelaide to wollong0ng direct as we are familiar with this travel

Roughly broken into 15 days the Gong to Darwin, 15 days in and around Darwin, 15 days Darwin to Adelaide.

We will be driving aNW Diesel Pajero and behind us a19 series New Age Manta Ray. Do not want to get on rough/rough gravel.

All these roads are new to us so all advice, tourist info etc will be most appreciated.

For the record my darling thought Emerald was in the outback.

This should be an interesting trip[tongue in cheek].

Thank you in advance for all info.

The General

The roads are all pretty good where your going . We drove off the road in some places in dry conditions no trouble . Free camping .. 15 days will go fast . I tried so hard to control the anxiety of getting to the next place . With out seeing or looking around the town we are in !! Enjoy .. Yep get away north for warmer temps . Btw it get nice and cool at night in the centre.

Welcome The General - (maybe TEEGEE if you don't mind me using that - bit lazy) - hey - welcome to the best forum on the web - well I think so anyway. Been a member for quite a while now, and have lots of friends - some met - others never met - but friends none the less. Hope you come to enjoy it like we do - join in on the whole forum - not just - say - Techs - or Solo. This is YOUR forum - so make the most of it - good info on most subjects, the occasional difference of opinion - but isn't that friends are like?
