Green Green Green Green Green!

We're 4 weeks into a 7 week trip from Melbourne through the Wimmera, Mallee, Nth Central Vic & then heading to Nth East Vic. It's been a very GREEN  trip so far. We stopped for a cuppa at Green Hill Lake near Ararat & had a look at Green Lake near Horsham further west. 2 weeks later we stayed 4 nights at Green Lake near Sea Lake. We then drove to Green Lake (Nomad Territory) & stayed 8 nights including the ''Cup Weekend''. We were planning on a quiet camp along the Murray River but it was too muddy. We move tomorrow to Chiltern for a meet & greet weekend with our bird photography forum members. Our first outing with them looking at the birdlife is to Green Hill Dam. laughing.gif  laughing.gif Green Lake was quite enjoyable for us camped up the back (we like the quiet life) even though it was very busy. The rubbish men need to come pretty soon though. laughing.gif laughing.gif

They don't look like that anymore. All emptied this morning by the great people that run Greens Lake.

Thankyou to Goulbourne Murray Water. Great place, great service.

Can GMW do something about the dust, it was horrific with that wind nearly every day. Our van, car, eyes, noses, & hair are full of it. bleh bleh On a positive note the mozzies weren't quite as bad a some places that we've stayed at over the past month. thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif We go for an hours walk every morning. We walked out to the Midland Hwy & back plus down to each end of the campground every morning of our 8 day stay. We walked past Dave & your vans every time but there was no sign of life. We didn't want to intrude on whatever it is that you both do. Dave waved to us as he drove by us out on the entrance road one morning. We had a large bus/motorhome pull next to us for 4 nights. No-one got out of it for the whole time. We thought it might have been an alien spacecraft in disguise.wink.gif wink.gif One day it started itself up & drove itself away. Overall we had a good time, great to see families enjoying the Aussie outdoors.
