any GN at Greens

I am heading to Greens in a couple of days time (Sunday or Monday)... I expect it will be cold... any fellow GN going to be there?

It is our first trip there. Any suggestions about where the best place to park is?

More than likely wet and muddy around the lake side spots but as you drive in head to toilet block and straight ahead is the tree line spots, would be dryer around that area I think. Normally I like to get lakeside just left of ramp near the thong tree.

Well, I did not get to stay at Greens. My lady is not too well so we decided to go to a powered site in Nagambie... It was warm and nice and quiet because it was obviously too cold for a lot of campers so it was nice....

We took a drive to Greens to scope out the site. There was a lone van on the lake side and lots of open space.

We are planning to pay it a visit with friends from Tasmania who are coming to head north for a couple of months. We will be there for 3 nights from 4 July... I doubt there will be 4th of July fireworks but we will still have a camp fire and chat. Freezing our butts off I am sure.

Nice CVP next to the lake in Nagambie, I have stayed there a couple of times before I got set up with Solar Power. The park is owned by Jayco.

I didn't know that Jayco owned a park up there. I did see a Jayco sign on the way in though.

Both times we have stayed in this park it has been in winter. I think it would be too busy fo

Mike, next time you stay there have a look at all the cabins on your left along the creek as you come through the boom gates. When I last stayed there all the big cabins down further to the right along the lake side were just being placed into position and the office staff put me right on the corner next to all the noise and monster cranes. Not for long though, I found a nice spot, set up then went and told them I have moved to site ??. No problem then. That is when they told me it is owned by Jayco. Nice park though and yes very very busy summer and regatta times.

Wont be long then and they will put a big charge on Greens and keep the Grey Nomads out as has happened at other lakes such as Lake Fyans in the Grampians and might also happen at green hill lake Ararat in the near future as they say all good things come to an end, for everyone who stays there I hope I am wrong.

Hi there,  When I last traveled, I had a small campervan, it was fine, but as time went on, I started to feel confined.  I had no air con., I nearly died of the heat during the wet season.  The good news was I lost a bucket of weight, but upon my return home, quickly put it back on ggrrrr.

This time I'm considering purchasing a small pop top van, maybe an AVan like a few of you have, or maybe a small jayco rear door.

Over Summer, I'd like to visit Greens and check out how some of you guys are set up, and probably ask lots of silly questions, as to how I can have some comforts on the road.

Thanks Lesley

 Hi Lesley

There will be quite a few GN's at greens over the summer from around Oct to Mar and plenty coming and going. I will be up regularly as I am still working so just make it every second weekend or so.  Look forward to catching up, I have a Mercedes Sprinter Van.

We are heading up to Greens on Thursday 31st July, for a few nights on our way North for a few weeks finally. Can't wait to hit the road again.

Hi John,  Might come for a drive over one day.  Because of the wind that's due to come up tomorrow will delay leaving home until it dies down.  Haven't had a look at Ayson's. They say it's quite good.

Hi Doug. Think we'll stay well up from the lake edge , with protection from the wind.  Want to catch up with friends working at Shep East Big 4 but will have our little dog with us this trip and object to the cost.  Heading up to Lightning Ridge.
